_Roles and Responsibilities:_

• Design, build, and own critical backend services that power underwriting, credit scoring, and loan decisioning workflows.
• Develop high-performance Go services for score orchestration, policy evaluation, decision APIs, and related lending platform capabilities.
• Integrate credit models, rule engines, third-party data providers, and internal risk systems into reliable production flows.
• Ensure decision pipelines are accurate, explainable, auditable, and resilient under high throughput.
• Define and evolve service contracts, data models, and event schemas used across underwriting and scoring systems.
• Improve reliability, latency, and operability of core backend platforms through monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization.
• Partner with ML, risk, product, and data teams to productionize scoring and underwriting capabilities end to end.
• Lead technical design discussions, review architecture trade-offs, and raise the engineering bar through mentoring and code review.
• Handle production incidents, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system resilience.
• Uphold engineering and compliance standards for secure, governed, and business-critical lending systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong production experience in Go (Golang).
• Deep understanding of designing and building scalable, reliable microservices and APIs (REST and/or gRPC).
• Experience with distributed systems concepts: concurrency, messaging, idempotency, retries, consistency, and fault tolerance.
• Strong proficiency with SQL databases, data modeling, indexing, query performance, and transactional integrity.
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar event-driven architectures, caching (e.g. Redis), and containerized deployments.
• Experience building or integrating underwriting, credit scoring, loan decisioning, or risk-related systems in fintech or digital lending.
• Understanding of credit workflows such as application intake, feature/data aggregation, score orchestration, policy rules, decisioning, and audit trails.
• Ability to work with ML-serving systems, model APIs, feature stores, or score pipelines in production.
• Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, and production incident handling.
• Strong system design, code quality, and mentorship skills.
