Position Description
The primary role of the 1:1 Aide is to support scholars who need additional support in and outside of the classroom according to their IEP. This could include wheel chair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, small group instruction, push-in classroom support, and curriculum modification, etc. The ideal candidate should have experience working with students with disabilities and additional physical support needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist scholars who need additional support in and outside the classroom. This could include wheel chair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, etc.
- Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacher
- Facilitate reading intervention, small group instruction and pull out groups
- Conduct academic assessments
- Provide instruction in various drills and activities using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills
- Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining both school culture and academics
- Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students
- Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
- Maintain high behavioral expectations for scholar behavior at all times and enforce Equitas Academy’s positive discipline policies
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders
- May provide adaptive supports with eating and toileting
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- AA degree or equivalent required
- BA degree preferred
- Knowledge and experience in ABA
- Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test
- Previous experience working with and supervising children
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment

Starting at $23/hour. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.
