📅 Hours: 36 hours per week

The Security Officer is responsible for delivering professional security services across a range of sites within a designated geographic area, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, property, and assets. The role requires maintaining the highest standards of customer service while upholding the core values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness, in line with site-specific requirements and operational procedures🛡️

Key duties as a Security Officer will include monitoring access to premises, responding to fire and intruder alarms, conducting internal and external patrols, and overseeing CCTV systems where required. The Security Officer will also manage traffic control, carry out routine equipment checks, handle key management and lock-up procedures, and ensure all security equipment is maintained and used in accordance with established assignment instructions.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

What we’re looking for:

• A valid SIA licence
• Great customer service skills
• Great IT skills
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Be punctual and reliable
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
