Shape the Future of Veterinary Care in Melbourne’s North
At VicVet, we’re building an integrated veterinary destination that brings together Primary Care, Emergency, and expanding Referral Services under one roof.
Our purpose-built Emergency & Referral hospital opened in Whittlesea in April 2026. Planned investments in medicine, oncology, CT, surgery and advanced referral capabilities will create opportunities for veterinarians looking to grow their skills and help shape the service.
Backed by Apiam Animal Health, you’ll benefit from a national veterinary network while working alongside experienced clinicians in a team that values collaboration, professional development and life outside work.
About VicVet
VicVet provides general practice and emergency and critical care to Melbourne’s northern corridor.
As we grow, we’re investing in integrated emergency and referral services, supported by a skilled nursing team and experienced clinical leaders. Expanding our veterinary team will strengthen mentoring, clinical support and development opportunities while continuing to deliver high standards of patient care.
Why Join VicVet?
- Help shape a growing service. Contribute to an integrated model of Primary Care, Emergency and Referral medicine.
- Work in a purpose-built hospital. A modern environment designed for triage, diagnostics and critical care.
- Learn from experienced clinicians. Receive mentorship from experienced clinicians alongside support from a dedicated ECC nursing team.
- Develop your clinical skills. Manage a diverse emergency caseload and contribute to clinical workflows and protocols.
- Build your career. Access structured development and future opportunities as our referral capabilities expand.
- Find a sustainable roster. Discuss full-time or part-time arrangements across day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
The Opportunity
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you’ll deliver emergency and critical care while contributing to the continued development of our service.
Whether you’re an experienced ECC clinician or a GP veterinarian ready to begin your emergency journey, you’ll join a team that values mentorship, knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinarians, ECC nurses and the wider clinical team, with a mix of sole-charge and team-based shifts and clinical support arrangements in place.
We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, works well independently and within a team, and is committed to clinical excellence. You’ll need a veterinary degree registrable in Victoria—BVSc, DVM or equivalent—and experience in, or a strong interest in, emergency and critical care.
