Medical Assistant

_Position Title:_ Medical Assistant/Technician

_Position Type:_ Full Time; 35 Hours Weekly

_Location:_ Primary office located in Berkeley; travel to Toms River and Point Pleasant as needed

_Department:_ Outpatient

_Salary:_ $42,500 - $45,500

_Responsibilities:_

• Assist with medication refills and prior authorizations
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vitals, preparing lab specimens, and administering medications under the supervision of a physician
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms
• Manage patient records, and handle administrative tasks as needed
• Provide education to patients regarding their medications and treatments
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care instructions

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Current NJ Medical Assistant Certification preferred
• Experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in computer applications and the use of electronic health records
