Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Develop : Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using modern technologies.
• Microservices and APIs : Build and optimize microservices architecture and GraphQL APIs, ensuring seamless integration with the Circo ecosystem.
• Database Management : Develop and optimize relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases for high availability and performance.
• Event-Driven Systems : Implement event-driven systems using Kafka or similar tools to enable real-time user interactions and data processing.
• Collaboration : Work closely with frontend and mobile teams to ensure smooth API integration and consistent user experience.
• Code Quality : Champion best code quality, testing, and deployment practices through CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Security : Implement robust security measures to protect user data and ensure system integrity.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience : 5+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Technical Expertise : Proficiency in Java and Node.js programming languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and cloud-native architecture.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Database Knowledge : Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in optimization and complex queries.
• Cloud Platforms : Experience with AWS, including tools like Lambda, S3, and Cockroach DB.
• Problem Solver : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
• Team Player : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, passionate about working in cross-functional teams.

• Experience with GraphQL APIs.
