Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.
We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.
We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.
We're hiring a Product Designer to shape the products and experiences that make energy abundant. This is an early design hire, so you'll help define the entire roadmap, working directly with our CEO (ex-Revolut) and across engineering, trading and operations. Our design team includes people from Pentagram, Revolut and Arrival. Design leads product here, not PMs.
Responsibilities
- Consumer products: mobile and web apps that reward users for controlling their usage, balancing grid demand and upgrading their home with solar, batteries and EVs
- Physical and digital experiences: home energy upgrades, hardware products and home IoT device controls
- Brand expression and identity: define Fuse's visual language across web, mobile, motion and physical products
- High-stakes interfaces: internal tools and platforms that manage gigawatts of renewable energy, thousands of installations and millions of customers, built from scratch
- As we scale, design grid management systems, reward mechanisms and products that do not exist yet

- 5+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products
- Strong craft across typography, colour, composition and UX
- A track record of working end-to-end from initial vision and discovery through to design execution

- Excellent written communication skills
- Figma expert (non-negotiable)
- Bonus: motion graphics, 3D (C4D, Spline), copywriting or code
Benefits
- Competitive salary and eligibility for equity
- Biannual bonus scheme
- Fully expensed tech to match your needs
- Private health insurance
- Breakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employees
