Financial Accountant

Melbourne, VIC | Full-Time | Permanent Industry: Healthcare An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a growing organisation within the healthcare sector. This role will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing insights that support strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Manage general ledger reconciliations and balance sheet integrity. Prepare statutory accounts and support external audits. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to support business outcomes. Monitor cash flow, fixed assets, and financial controls. Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems. Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support. About You Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role. Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements. Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting external audits. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modelling, and data analysis. Experience using accounting and ERP systems such as SAP, MYOB, Xero or similar platforms. Exposure to reporting and business intelligence tools, including Power BI, is highly regarded. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience within the healthcare, aged care, pharmaceutical, medical, or related sectors will be highly regarded.
