Physician - Sleep Medicine

> * Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.

> * Experience: Minimum of 12 months within the last 36 months of current, independent clinical experience in sleep medicine. Must demonstrate competency to work independently in a sleep medicine practice.

> * License/Certification:

> * Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. jurisdiction.

> * Board eligible or board certified in Sleep Medicine (ABMS or AOA recognized).

> * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

> * Other Requirements:

> * Must be a U.S. Citizen.

> * Strong background in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders including apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and parasomnias.

Responsibilities:

> * Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with sleep disorders.

> * Interpret and review polysomnographic studies and other sleep-related diagnostic tests.

> * Develop, document, and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic and acute sleep conditions.

> * Prescribe and monitor therapies such as CPAP/PAP devices, medications, and behavioral interventions.

> * Collaborate with polysomnographic technicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate testing and continuity of care.

> * Educate patients and families in sleep hygiene, treatment compliance, and disorder management.

> * Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (GENESIS).

> * Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

> * Ensure compliance with DHA, DoD, and professional medical standards.

> * Provide consultative expertise to other departments regarding sleep medicine cases.
