We are looking for a Manual Test Engineer to join a QA team supporting critical enterprise applications. The role focuses on manual testing, backend validation, SQL-based data verification, and API testing, ensuring application quality through close collaboration with developers, analysts, and Product Owners in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design and execute manual functional, integration and regression tests
- Perform backend and database focused testing
- Validate data flows, transformations and backend processing
- Write and execute SQL queries to verify data and investigate issues
- Test REST and SOAP APIs
- Analyse application logs and database records to identify defects and root causes
- Prepare and maintain test documentation, scenarios and reports
- Work closely with developers, analysts and Product Owners
- Track and manage defects using Jira or similar tools
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum and PI Planning
- Support continuous improvement of QA processes
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of commercial experience as a Manual Tester or QA Engineer
- Strong SQL knowledge, including complex queries, JOINs, subqueries and GROUP BY
- Experience testing backend or data driven applications
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL or MySQL
- Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs
- Ability to analyse business and technical requirements
- Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps or similar QA tools
- Strong test documentation skills
- Good understanding of manual testing techniques and defect lifecycle
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments
- Good English communication skills
Nice to have
- Basic experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Postman or Python
- CI/CD exposure
