Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced operations leader to run the New Accounts and Maintenance area of our Account Services function. The Director, Account Services owns new account opening, account maintenance, cashiering, quality control and account data, and coordination with account supervision.

The ideal candidate knows broker-dealer and RIA operations well enough to do the work, keeps queues covered and turnaround standards met, and documents and trains the processes so they are followed by everyone.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable the associates in New Accounts and Maintenance. Set priorities, keep the queues covered, coach the people in the roles, and run their check-ins and year-end evaluations.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for account issues, and handle the hardest cases personally when needed.
- Bring capacity, custodian, and risk issues to the Vice President, Account Services early and with a recommendation.
New Accounts and Account Maintenance
- Own new account establishment: transition paperwork, account opening, account tagging, change of broker-dealer processing and tracking, and NIGO identification and resolution.
- Own account maintenance: account feature updates, account changes and closures, terminated representative account processing, and information requests.
- Own day-to-day coordination with the custodians, Charles Schwab and Fidelity (NFS), to resolve issues and process requests.
Cashiering
- Own cash and securities movement, direct business money movement, fee debits, and ACAT transfers, with accurate documentation and timely execution.
- Support advisors and clients with self-cashiering guidance and requests.
Account Data and Quality Control
- Own data field and rep code integrity across systems and custodians.
- Own quality control reviews, account reconciliation, quarterly account audits, quarterly account quality and performance reporting, and data feed requests.
Account Supervision Coordination
- Work with the Account Supervision role and Compliance so Home Office Principal reviews, audits, and escalations keep account activity within regulatory and internal standards.
Process Development and Improvement
- Write down how the work gets done, train the associates on it, and improve the processes so they are followed by everyone.
- Identify automation and workflow improvements and bring them to the Vice President, Account Services with a clear recommendation.
Qualifications
- Seven or more years in broker-dealer or RIA operations, including new accounts, account maintenance, and cashiering, with at least three years leading people.
- Series 7 required. Series 24 (or Series 9 and 10) preferred.
- Working knowledge of custodial and brokerage platforms, including Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and NFS, and of NIGO, ACAT, and money movement controls.
- Comfortable running queues, service levels, and quality reviews, and using the numbers to manage the work.
- Able to document, train it, and hold people to it.
- Clear, direct communicator who says the hard thing early and operates with no surprises.
- Organized and steady under volume, and able to step in and do the work when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Salary is commensurate with experience.
