Truck Mechanic (ETX) - Southern Transport

Southern Transport, LLC was established in 2006 with a one-ton truck and a gooseneck trailer, hauling local hot shot loads. It has now grown into a very respected, national choice for heavy-haul transport, lifting and freight services.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Service Truck Mechanic at our Kilgore, Texas location.

Position entails:

• Hours are 7-5 Monday through Friday (punctuality is a MUST)
• 7 days on call (which includes working Saturday and Sunday), 5 days off call (regular shop work) and 2 days off.
• Some traveling involved. Per diem is included when you travel.
• Candidate must possess knowledge ranging from changing tires to replacing turbos, etc.
• Must have strong diagnosing capability, proficiency in wiring, and knows the basics of hydraulics.
• Needs to be a team player and highly self-motivated.
• Candidate must be willing to go the extra mile and take care of issues before they become problems.
• Very fast paced environment.
• Fleet includes Peterbilt, Kenworth and Western Star. Cummins, Caterpillar, Paccar and Detroit engines.
• Work on Hot shot trucks and goosenecks occasionally.
