POSITION TITLE: Quality _Engineer I_ SHIFT: _1st._

LOCATION: Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc._Edmonton, KY_

BASIC POSITION DUTIES: __

• _Monitors, reviews and confirms daily quality performance of assigned Production Lines._
• _Tracks in-process defects of assigned lines and identifies improvement activities to reduce and/or eliminate target defects._
• _Investigate Quality problems / concerns of the OEM assigned._
• _Analyze and investigate root cause Quality issues of the assigned OEM._
• _Assist in developing robust countermeasures for in-house and OEM Quality issues by Leading root cause analysis using tools such as 5 why, fishbone, DOE, & SPC._
• _Compile analysis report, report to OEM and track status to closure._
• _Assist in establishing and developing manufacturing operation procedures, equipment procedures, Daily check items, and other documentation of procedures for assembly processes._
• _Report on OEM Quality issues to management_
• _Creates, maintains, and improves PFMEA, Process Quality Control Plan, and all associated documents._
• _Supports and communications with all departments to identify potential quality concerns and improvement activities._
• _Support APQP/PPAP activities._
• _Perform process capability studies._
• _Analyze defects related to soldering, SMT processes, components, ESD & functional testing._
• _Support validation testing and failure analysis._
• _Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework & warranty risks._

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• _Quality Engineering Technologist_ _– HS, GED, or technical certificate plus 1-3 years’ experience._
• _Quality Engineer_ _\- Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field._
• _Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Electronics manufacturing and demonstrated applicable engineering skills._
• _Good Communication and Computer Skills._
• _Experience may be substitution for degree._
• _Experience in Microsoft office computer programs._
• _Travel as needed, including potentially international._
