**Position Overview**

We are seeking an experienced **Business Analyst – Advanced** to support a major application migration and modernization initiative. This role will focus on analyzing, documenting, and supporting system changes as applications are transitioned from a legacy environment to a new platform.

This is a **newly created position** intended to support long-term modernization efforts.

o Fully **onsite** initially in Columbia, SC

o Eligible for **telecommuting up to 2 days per week after 3 months** , contingent upon project milestones and approval

· **Candidate Residency Requirement:**

o **Must be a South Carolina resident**

o **No relocation allowed**

· **Possibility for Extension:** Yes

**Responsibilities**

· Elicit, analyze, and document business rules, processes, and system requirements

· Support government IT projects through business analysis and documentation

· Participate in system development life cycle (SDLC) activities

· Collaborate with technical teams during application migration and modernization

· Assist with data analysis and validation using SQL

· Support project documentation and stakeholder communication

· Use standard business analysis tools and methodologies to support project goals

**Required Qualifications**

· **Education:**

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

o Relevant experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

· **5+ years of experience working on Government IT projects** as a Business Analyst or in related roles

· **5+ years** of experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business rules, processes, and requirements

· **1+ year of hands-on experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)**

· **1+ year of experience working with SQL databases**

**Preferred Qualifications**

· **IIBA certifications** , such as:

o CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional)

o CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis)

· **PMI-PBA** (Professional in Business Analysis) certification

· **1+ year of experience using JIRA and Microsoft Office** products
