DIESEL MECHANIC (Hilton, KZN)

Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered vehicles, machinery and equipment, ensuring that all equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.

_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES_

1. Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles, machinery and equipment

2. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and determine appropriate repairs

3. Conduct preventative maintenance according to service schedules

4. Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify potential mechanical problems

5. Repair and replace defective components

6. Carry out engine, transmission, braking and suspension repairs

7. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety requirements

8. Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance

9. Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required

10. Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop and work environment

11. Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and used correctly

_REQUIREMENTS_

1. Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic – essential

2. Minimum 5 years' post-trade test experience

3. Valid Driver's Licence – essential

4. Proven experience in diesel engine maintenance, servicing and repairs

5. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

7. Good understanding of mechanical systems and preventative maintenance

8. Reliable, responsible and safety-conscious
