Automotive Service Advisor

__Job Summary:____ Our service advisors bridge the technical gap between our customers and our service technicians to help customers understand their vehicle's needs; to get the right work completed according to the customer's needs at each visit. Sells and schedules recommended and required service work in the service department.

__Key Responsibilities and Duties:__

• _Communicates with the customer_ reviews and confirms repair or maintenance needs. Collects, verifies and updates, as needed, customer and vehicle information. Identifies all open service actions requiring attention and asks for permission to perform them.
• _Consults with technicians_ regarding necessary repairs. Compiles estimates.
• _Explains necessary repairs_ to customers, providing time frames for completion.
• _Advises customers_ of any warranty coverage and alternative transportation options.
• _Prepares work orders_ describing symptoms and services requested and manages workflow to technicians, schedules work accordingly.
• _Works with the Parts department_ to give accurate information to customers about when needed parts will be available for repairs to be completed.
• _Other duties as assigned._

__Qualifications and Skills:__

1. Outstanding customer service skills are required. This position interacts with customers face-to-face, over the phone and via electronic communications systems. Must be able to deliver outstanding customer service verbally and in writing.

2. Attention to detail is a must. Must be able to switch between tasks frequently without losing track of anyone.

3. Technical understanding is a plus. This position translates between our technicians and our customers what needs to be done to each vehicle and why it's important.

4. Mathematical skill required to calculate figures and amounts when providing estimates.

5. Ability to follow standard operating procedures consistently and efficiently.
