Our client who is the largest rental car service in the United States is looking for an Entry Level Staff accountant.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for gathering and/or coordinating daily data to assist in the timely completion of financial statements. The Staff Accountant also assists with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Accounts Payable including reconciliation of statements, coding of invoices, and keying payables into PeopleSoft; review weekly PeopleSoft Accounts Payable Aged Vendor Liability Report and communicate with regions to clear items.
- Accounts Receivable including coding of checks, keying Cash Receipts and researching Accounts receivable misreceipts.
- Research Lockbox Exceptions and clear items.
- Print and Review daily banking reports for Commerce Bank and Bank of America and prepare daily cash receipts.
- Review all Inter-group payables under GP24 and charge correct to appropriate regions.
- Follow up, collect and pay Inter-Company payables.
- Create Counter Tickets for employees, vendors and other groups.
- Monitor the AA0330 screen periodically throughout month to ensure cash receipts are approved timely.
- Review Document Error Listing periodically throughout month and clear items.
- Filing of all sales and use tax returns and other state and local government surcharges timely.
- Communicate all sales tax rate changes to all regions and ensure all changes are implemented timely.
- Review and document weekly and monthly Group Account Schedules.
- Collect T&E reports, review and code report and submit T&E reimbursement report to payroll biweekly.
- Execute a timely and accurate month-end closing process and FYE closing per checklist by coordinating with all departments.
- Complete month-end account schedules, perform annual physical fixed asset inventory, and perform quarterly title audit.
- Prepare per unit analysis, review flux report and Performance Income Statements.
- Conduct regional peer reviews.
- Any other administrative duties as requested by Supervisor.
4 year degree in Accounting, CPA,CMA (or equivalent) preferred
Salary: 45-55k
