_Summary_ _This position is directly responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling new Business Insurance Accounts. Continuing to counsel and market to existing clients professionally is another essential function of the position. Specific Sales activities, goals and, service responsibilities are determined during the yearly planning process for this position and are monitored monthly._

_Minimum Qualifications_

• _Bachelor 's degree preferred_
• _NC Department of Insurance Property & Casualty License preferred_
• _2+ years of experience in business-to-business sales_

_Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities_

• _Ability to discuss, support, and sell insurance products in states where the agency functions._
• _Ability to use personal computer, calculator, agency automation system, and proficiency in various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) Applied EPIC, etc._
• _Must have excellent communication skills; written and verbal._
• _Must be an assertive self-starter with the ability to influence others._
• _Must excel at being client focused and able to work in a team-oriented environment_
• _Should have demonstrated effective presentation skills through both verbal and written communications_
• _Proven leadership ability_

_Supervisory Responsibilities_ _May have some supervisory responsibilities as the business grows._

_Essential Functions_

• _Identifies and develops relationships with qualified insurance buyers_
• _Generates referrals for other team members_
• _Creates and maintains detailed lists of current and prospective clients_
• _Designs insurance plans and recommends coverages to clients_
• _Surveys loss exposures, needs, and possible uninsurable or difficult to insure exposures for clients_
• _Creates insurance proposals, makes sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal basis_
• _Communicates accurate and complete information to account management team in a polite and respectful manner_
• _Meet scorecard goals_

_Physical Demands_ _This is primarily a sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. _

_Work Environment_ _This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, copier, filing cabinets and fax machine._

_Travel_ _Some travel is required to visit client sites._
