Senior Water/Utilities Civil Engineer

_SENIOR WATER/UTILITIES CIVIL ENGINEER - Sacramento, CA_

What we're looking for?

_Kier + Wright is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior water/utilities civil engineer to join our growing water department. This is an excellent chance to work on a broad range of potable water, recycled water, and wastewater engineering projects, with a focus on hydraulic modeling, pipeline design, pump station and lift station design, and permitting through construction._

What you will do

_Proposals_

• _Lead marketing and business development efforts including writing potable water, recycled water, and wastewater sections of proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts._

_Project Management_

• _Oversee project management for potable water, recycled water, and wastewater capital improvement projects, including pipeline, pump station, and lift station design._
• _Manage client relationships and subconsultant contracts._
• _Analyze proposed designs for reliability, constructability, and cost-effectiveness._

_Staff Management_

• _Mentor junior staff through technical issues and professional development_

_Technical_

• _Permitting new water, recycled water and wastewater systems and facilities._
• _Develop design standards and prepare technical reports._
• _Lead hydraulic modeling and engineering analyses for pressurized water distribution and recycled water systems, including pipeline sizing, pressure zone analysis, and pump station design using WaterCAD and Civil 3D._
• _Prepare technical studies, hydraulic model reports, and design reports for water and wastewater infrastructure projects._

What you have

Education + Experience

• _Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field_
• _12+ years of experience_
• _Extensive experience with hydraulic modeling software for pressurized water distribution systems_
• _Proficiency in WaterCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bluebeam._
• _Professional Engineering (PE) license (CA preferred)_

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff)
• Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.)
• Ability to lift and/or carry items ( up to 20 lbs.)
• Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
• Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.
