Mechanic Helper / Inventory Assistant

_STX Corporation is seeking a hardworking, dependable individual to join our team as a Mechanic Helper / Inventory Assistant at our Palmetto yard._

_This is a hands-on position supporting our mechanics, shop operations, equipment fleet, and railroad construction crews. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying busy, operating equipment, and taking pride in keeping things organized, we want to hear from you._

__What You'll Do:__

• _Assist mechanics with equipment maintenance and repairs_
• _Load, unload, sort, and organize railroad materials_
• _Maintain inventory and storage areas_
• _Wash, grease, fuel, and clean equipment_
• _Prepare tools, materials, and supplies for field crews_
• _Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment (when qualified)_
• _Perform general yard cleanup and housekeeping_
• _Help maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment_

_ Required Qualifications -_

• _Dependable transportation to and from work every day_
• _Current valid driver's license_
• _Clean driving record and ability to be insured under company vehicle policy_
• _Ability to report to work on time and as scheduled_
• _Ability to work longer hours and overtime is required_
• _Strong attendance record and reliability_
• _Self-motivated with the ability to work independently without constant supervision_
• _Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physical labor throughout the workday_
• _Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions_
• _Commitment to working safely and following company procedures_

_Preferred Qualifications_

• _Mechanical aptitude or experience working on equipment_
• _Forklift or skid steer operating experience_
• _Construction, railroad, warehouse, inventory, shop, or industrial experience_
• _Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment maintenance_
