Technical Sales Coordinator

Job Purpose / Mandate

The Technical Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive technical, commercial, drawing, and general support to the sales/design Office in respect of incoming customer enquiries, order processing, and after-sales service. As the sales/design Office represents the front end of the company’s production process, this role is critical in ensuring that all customer orders, technical drawings, and related company documentation are accurate, complete, and technically sound. Maintaining this level of technical integrity is essential to the efficient execution of production and the overall performance and reputation of the company.

The Technical Sales Coordinator’s primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead/coordinate the internal sales team in responding to all customer enquiries.

• Ensure accurate and consistent technical advice is provided, in line with approved product specifications and applications.

• Review and oversee quotations, pricing, technical drawings, and lead times prior to fabrication.

• Lead/coordinate the interface with the factory on technical matters, resolving design, specification, and production-related queries.

• Coordinate with stores and procurement to ensure material availability and delivery dates.

• Ensure accurate and disciplined use of the ERP system by the internal sales team.

• Manage and control the company’s internal drawing system, ensuring drawings are technically correct, approved, revision-controlled, and available to relevant departments.

• Oversee the preparation and use of technical drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation for internal processing and external sales support.

• Monitor and manage customer orders from quotation to fabrication and from fabrication to delivery.

• Ensure clear communication with the factory and timely resolution of technical or commercial issues.

• Lead the internal sales team in maintaining strong customer relationships and high service standards.

• Consolidate market, customer, and competitor feedback and report relevant insights to management.

• Enforce compliance with company policies, quality management systems, procedures, and technical change-control requirements within the internal sales function.

• Ensuring a strong administrative approach towards all internal processes.

• Conducting training with internal sales staff to ensure multi-skilling within the department.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

The Technical Sales Coordinator’s other duties and responsibilities will include the following items as required, but are not limited to:

• Stand-in for other sales employees when they are absent (internal and external).

• Stand-in for the Factory Manager when required (will be per formal arrangement).

• Temporary assistance in other departments of the business (will be per formal arrangement).

• Assist with other tasks as required.

Requirements

The following are the minimum requirements for a person in the Technical Sales Coordinator position with regards to perform the jobs tasks adequately:

• Proven experience in technical sales and design Office exposure.

• Strong understanding of electrical components, systems, or industrial products.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (specifically Word, Excel and Outlook).

• Ability to compile and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Team player with a proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.

• Good physical health.

• Hold a valid driver’s license and provides own transport.

Beneficial Experience

The following will be beneficial within the position’s requirements:

• Experience in a manufacturing company or working with electrical products.

• Knowledge of industry standards and certifications (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO).

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.

Qualifications

Education : A minimum of a B.Eng Engineering, B-Tech Engineering, National Diploma.

Language : English literate (able to read and write).
