What You'll Do
Woodard & Curran is seeking a Wastewater Operator or Operator Trainee to join our team at the Provincetown Wastewater Treatment Facility.
In this role, you'll help ensure the safe and reliable operation of the treatment plant and collection system while protecting the region's valuable water resources. Your responsibilities will include:
Operating and monitoring treatment process equipment
Performing routine maintenance on plant systems and equipment
Conducting laboratory testing and sampling activities
Supporting collection system operations
Maintaining facility grounds and overall plant appearance
Responding to operational issues and helping ensure regulatory compliance

Relocation Assistance Available
Woodard & Curran may offer up to $3,000 in relocation reimbursement for experienced candidates who:
Hold a valid Massachusetts wastewater treatment license
Currently reside more than 30 miles from the facility
Are willing to relocate for the position
Relocation assistance is subject to a repayment agreement if employment ends within 12 months of the hire date, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
Schedule
Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
This position includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule shared among facility staff to provide emergency response coverage when needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Ability to obtain a Massachusetts "Full" Municipal Wastewater Treatment Operator License within one year of hire (Operator-in-Training licenses are welcome)
Ability to obtain a Massachusetts 1B Hoisting License
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of wastewater treatment operations experience
Experience with wastewater collection systems
Basic mechanical maintenance skills, including pumps and valves
Technical or vocational training in a related field
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to safely access tanks, manholes, and other confined spaces in accordance with established safety procedures
Ability to regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds
Ability to successfully complete a DOT background check, DOT physical, and drug screening
